Navigation Center Mural
10’x16’, 2024
Commissioned by San Mateo County, this mural was painted at the Navigation Center, a homeless shelter and services site. I engaged the residents of the center by asking questions like “What does home mean to you?” and “What does community mean to you?” Their answers were included in the mural to center their voices and perspectives.
Palo Alto Utility Box
61” x 59” x 17”, 2024
Commissioned by the City of Palo Alto, CA as part of their public art program. The utility box is at a bus stop at the corner of Page Mill Rd. and Hansen Way, in the middle of a Silicon Valley office park.
Colusa Community Mural
48’x8’, 2024
This mural was a commission by the Colusa County Arts Council, painted in Veteran’s Memorial Park in Colusa, CA. The shipping container was placed in the park to hold the supplies for the Levitt Amp summer concert series. The arts council asked me to paint a mural on it to beautify the container and tie it in with the concert’s goals of community engagement. The mural was painted with the help of community volunteers.
El Cerrito Community Mural
10’5”x 46’, 2024
I designed this mural and painted it with help from the El Cerrito community. It is located along the Ohlone Greenway, a pedestrian path beneath the BART Tracks. It is adjacent to a popular dog park. Thirteen people committed their time to helping paint, including several young children. The painting became a bit of a block party. We had pizza, music, and cold drinks, while we enjoyed getting to know one another through the process of creating this mural.
